Etiquette

Dojo Rules

1. Always be respectful of instructors, fellow students, and guests.
2. Bow towards the Dojo upon entering or leaving the front door.
3. Be on time for class. The penalty for being late is 25 pushups (adults), 10 pushups (kids). Do your pushups on your own, stretch out, and the instructor will tell you when to join in with the class. Do not enter the training area without the instructor's permission. It is better to come late than not at all!
4. If you are going to miss class or if you must leave early you should inform the instructor.
5. If you need to adjust your uniform, do so while facing the back of the room.
6. All injuries or medical conditions that may affect your training must be reported to the instructor before class begins.
7. All students should have a physical exam prior to beginning to train.
8. Any injuries that occur in class must be immediately reported to the instructor.
9. No foul or inappropriate language is permitted in the Dojo or in public when representing our Dojo.
10. No eating or chewing gum during class. (You may choke or make a mess).
11. No jewelry may be worn during class. It may be damaged or may cause damage to yourself or your partner.
12. When seated in class, sit cross-legged or in seiza position. Be attentive to those who are up performing or teaching.
13. DO NOT TOUCH THE WALLS, WINDOWS, OR MIRRORS AT ANY TIME.
14. DO NOT TOUCH ANY TRAINING EQUIPMENT OR WEAPONS WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE INSTRUCTOR.
15. Take your training seriously. Self-defense deals with life or death situations.
16. Have fun while training. Life is too short.
17. Any and all jokes must be shared with the instructor. If they are deemed appropriate, they may be shared with the whole class.
