Tang Soo Do
This Korean art focuses on kicking techniques. It was the first style of Dr. Terry and provided a solid traditional foundation that underlies much of what we do at MKA Karate. Practicing the higher and flashier kicks of Tang Soo Do, helps students to develop even more power in the lower, straight-forward kicks of Ryukyu Kempo. The flexibility required for Tang Soo Do is invaluable for improving speed, strength, and agility for all leg techniques.
Dr. Terry earned his Black Belt in Tang Soo Do (just before his 10th birthday!) under Young H. Kwon, Fred Scott, and Jae C. Shin.
