Welcome to MKA Karate! Proudly serving the local community since 1997. We offer classes for ages 4 & up. We are located at 151 S. State Rd, Springfield, PA (Springfield Shopping Center, next door to Hibachi, previously Medina Kenpo Karate).

With decades of experience, our instructors have developed a martial arts training program to meet your goals. Our focus is fitness, practical self-defense, and self-development. At MKA Karate we use the latest teaching and training techniques to keep classes interesting, informative, and exciting. Our goal is to keep our students "smiling, sweating, and learning!"

We are the only Delaware Valley karate school to augment classical Ryukyu Kempo Karate with the elements of Modern Arnis, Small-Circle Jujitsu, Wei Kuen Do, Tang Soo Do, and American Kenpo. A solid foundation in Okinawan Karate lays the groundwork for exploration of several other approaches to self-defense to provide a thorough, well-rounded martial arts education.

As a specialist in Sports and Rehabilitation Medicine, MKA Karate's chief instructor, Charles Terry, MD, enhances the martial arts experience by incorporating knowledge from his medical degree into a comprehensive and healthful education. As a practicing acupuncturist, he is an authority on the use of pressure points for healing and for self-defense. He has been training in the martial arts since 1974 and is the first person in the world to earn individual Black Belt Rankings from GM Young H. Kwon, GM George Dillman, Professor Remy Presas, Professor Wally Jay, and GM Leo Fong.
